Hayate: The Combat Butler

Hayate The Combat Butler berkisah mengenai Hayate Ayasaki, seorang remaja laki-laki berusia 16 tahun,miskin,ortu pengangguran dan penjudi. Ia bekerja sambilan untuk mendapatkan uang demi kehidupannya dan keluarganya. Tak disangka, sang ortu yang penjudi punya utang sebesar 156 juta yen pada yakuza pedagang organ tubuh ilegal! Hayate dijual kepada yakuza itu untuk melunasi hutang oleh ortunya sendiri.
Ketika dikejar-kejar yakuza yang meminta uang tagihan, Hayate bertemu Nagi Sanzenin,yang ternyata adalah putri tunggal keluarga kaya Sanzenin.
Hayate berencana menculik gadis berusia 13tahun ini, namun dia(Hayate) justru mengucapkan kata-kata penyanderaan dengan kata-kata ungkapan cinta! Nagi pun jatuh cinta pada Hayate. Bukannya diculik Hayate, Nagi malah diculik orang lain yang juga terlibat masalah utang judi dengan yakuza. Hayate justru menyelamatkan Nagi dari penculikan.
Sebagai balas budi (dan juga sebagai tanda cinta), Nagi Sanzenin yang tahu kalau Hayate butuh pekerjaan, mengangkat Hayate menjadi kepala pelayan di rumahnya, manggantikan kepala pelayan sebelumnya, Himegami.
